Full-Time Lead Teacher – 3-Year-Old Classroom

Location: Peppermint Preschool – Highland, IL
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (with a 1-hour lunch)
Compensation: $18 – $24 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Job Description:
Peppermint Preschool is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Teacher for our three-year-old classroom. Our program follows a research-based curriculum aligned with Illinois Early Learning Standards and fosters a structured yet nurturing environment for early childhood education. We are looking for an educator who is committed to fostering a positive learning environment while supporting social-emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement a structured curriculum based on Illinois Early Learning Standards.
  • Develop lesson plans and assess student progress using portfolio documentation.
  • Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes collaboration and learning.
  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding student development.
  • Ensure compliance with DCFS licensing regulations and school policies.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
  • Previous experience working in a licensed childcare setting.
  • CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Responsibilities:

    • Provide hands-on support in classroom activities and daily routines.
    • Assist with classroom setup, clean-up, and organization.
    • Help monitor and guide children’s behavior, ensuring a safe learning environment.
    • Collaborate with Lead Teacher to support curriculum goals.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
  • Previous experience working in a licensed childcare setting.
